In 2024, Mater Angelo Care Foundation proudly certified 1,500 new caregivers across 15 states of Nigeria. These dedicated individuals completed our rigorous training program such as learning essential skills in elder care, first aid, dementia support, palliative care, and caregiving ethics. Today, we celebrate their achievement and the compassionate spirit they bring to every home they serve.

Building Skills That Save Lives

Our Caregiver Training Curriculum combines classroom instruction with hands‑on practice. Participants learn to:

  • Assist with daily living activities like feeding, bathing, and mobility support
  • Administer basic first aid and medication management safely
  • Provide compassionate end‑of‑life and dementia care, preserving dignity
  • Practice ethical decision‑making and effective communication with families

By the end of the program, each graduate demonstrates competency in real‑world scenarios ready to join hospitals, care homes, or community‑based home visits.

“I joined the training to care for my own grandmother—but I found a calling to serve many more.”
Chiamaka Onwuzurike, 24, Caregiver Training Graduate

Like Chiamaka, hundreds of our graduates began with personal motivation and left with professional confidence. Many have already started providing paid or volunteer care in their communities—transforming lives one visit at a time.

Our 2024 graduates amplify Mater Angelo’s mission: expanding the caregiving workforce and advancing community support networks. In just one year, they have:

  • Completed 60 hands‑on workshops in Enugu, Lagos, Abuja, and beyond
  • Joined forces with 30 local hospitals and care centers to provide on‑site caregiving support
  • Volunteered over 10,000 hours of direct care to elderly, disabled, and chronically ill clients

The ripple effect is clear: better care, stronger families, and healthier communities.
